warning the following video contains murderous screams a bit of profanity oh [ __ ] holy [ __ ] and a girl who is absolutely obsessed with food Fitness and becoming her best healthiest self both mentally and physically viewer discretion is advised more energy more discipline more motivation more productivity more more more Hello every everybody my name is Abigail page and for the next week I will be torturing Myself by taking only cold showers will it boost my energy levels discipline and change my life for the better or will it leave me morning over the days when I used to take nice warm comforting showers there's all this hype out there on the benefits of taking cold showers and as an athlete who is very obsessed with mental and physical health I wanted to put this to the test for myself

01:00

and see if it's actually worth it and if I actually can see the benefits I feel like a week is a great time gauge to figure out if this is actually going to be beneficial to my routine or if it's just simply not worth it because again I absolutely love my warm showers so of course the personal reasons are great but how does this benefit you guys what is going to be the turning point that you're like oh my God I need to take cold showers too because this is absolutely amazing taking cold showers has many benefits including boosted immunity decreased depression and anxiety improv circulation this is a huge one for me my hands and my feet are always cold not to mention faster recovery that's another huge one for me now that I'm in my second training block or not my second training block I've been in quite a few training blocks but this one is my second marathon training block and I'm less than 3 weeks away I'm definitely to be looking for those

02:00

things that are going to help my body feel its absolute best because we got to be ready for this thing I bet you thought I was done there but I'm not it also helps improve your skin and your hair Health increase your alertness increase your metabolism I'm not so sure about this one but I guess it makes semi sense I mean you always hear all the time like oh if you're on a diet drink cold water because it like decreases your internal body temperature but personally I don't think that's one that's like worth doing this entire challenge like it's not going to help help you lose weight all on its own um and better sleep am among many other things I cannot talk today but those were just some of the things that stood out to me the most okay it is the time of night to shower and I have no motivation to get in the shower at all I usually look forward to this time of the night and let's just say we're not looking forward to it not even a little bit I am like

03:00

already shivering and I'm not even in [Music] there day one I'm going to give you a little debrief here oh my God I'm cold get me out of here is like hell it's so cold 10 out of 10 do not recommend to anybody especially if you have a sensitive head holy [ __ ] it was horrible I think I have permanent Goosebumps involuntarily shivering so I really hope that the Blood starts flowing soon I am like still have Goosebumps I do not know if you can see that but they are there I don't think that's how this challenge is supposed to be so I really

04:00

hope I get used to it if not it's going to be a long week I took the entire shower in cold water and looking back I definitely think that's where I went wrong day two was much of the same except today I decided I was going to try a different method which was that cold hot cold the number years here I swear it doesn't well I'm not shaking uncontrollably like a wet dog so that is good I think tomorrow I'm going to wear a swea suit and I'll BR you guys in here so you can see the facial reactions overall I can say that was a lot more pleasant I got out of the shower and my body felt like it was a normal temperature day three I'm going to be completely honest I didn't even want a shower it's day three of this cold shower Challenge and it never gets any easier I completely lost my motivation and because normally I think my shower time is a very sacred thing it helps relax me and calm me down and I knew that the second I stepped in that cold water it was going to be game over

05:00

time has come for another cold rinse at least by day four I knew what to expect I knew that it was going to be cold and miserable 1 2 3 8 9 and I kind of just learned to accept the fact that I was going to hate every second of my life when I was in there day five I was already just wishing I was done with the challenge I knew I had two days left and I was like oh my gosh these are going to be the longest two days of my life no it doesn't get any easier I was still screaming and swearing I really did not like it oh especially when my hair would drip down my back Sun Shivers day six I finally

06:00

started to see the light at the end of the tunnel I've already done this for 5 days so I think I can handle two more days day seven after a bit of reflecting on the entire experience I think it did help with like my recovery and it definitely helped with my energy levels a part of me really didn't even want to admit that out loud because I didn't like taking the cold showers the only way I can compare it is like on a day when you're not feeling motivated to go out on a run or go to the gym or get your work done but you know that you're going to feel better after you do it that's kind of the same concept applies to this cold shower challenge it's not fun in the moment but once you step out of the shower you're not going to regret it I could see the physical and the mental benefits I was just afraid to accept that because it wasn't like it was a fun experience to jump in really really cold water so

07:00

yes I'm drinking a Celsius at 5:37 but it's okay also this is not my perfect setup but I assure you I will have my fancy lights once again hopefully soon because I miss them dearly and now I'm just kind of having to rely on natural lights which is fine but I would really like to have my lights back it's time to jump into the results the juicy part did this help did I see the benefits will I continue doing this we're going to answer all those questions it definitely did help the energy levels I could definitely see if you're a morning shower person how this could be beneficial it'll give you that extra boost in the morning to jump out of bed and well actually no you're not going to want to jump out of bed and get in the shower but I can assure you that once you get out of the shower you're going to be like damn I am ready to tackle this day

08:00

the second thing was Muscle Recovery and yes absolutely I did notice that I was a lot less sore when I got out of the shower and I felt a lot less achy I definitely struggle to focus at times as I've been pretty open with you guys I feel like I do think it helped with my focus and overall motivation again I kind of compare it to running I think that it's one of those things like you don't like doing it in the moment but it's going to help you in the long run run so I'm not always motivated to go out and run and I definitely was never motivated to get in that cult shower however when I got out I could not deny the fact that it helped me feel a little bit more relaxed and a little bit more at ease which hence made me focus better on the tasks at hand and I can comfortably say that no this did not get easier I did not have any more willpower by the end of this challenge as I did in the beginning every single time it still is freaking cold and and it just makes

09:00

you want to scream and jump and swear and turn into a not good person so no it doesn't get easier I did not notice any difference in my willpower and discipline because Pat myself on the back here I think I already had good discipline so it wasn't like this cold shower challenge was going to make like any drastic change in that for me will I continue doing this will I continue taking cold showers every single day for the rest of my life no definitely not maybe occasionally if I need a little extra zaz in my day or I feel like I am really sore and it could benefit with like Muscle Recovery but no I really thoroughly enjoy heat sticking my entire naked body in a freezing cold tap water situation in the shower where it's touching my back and no definitely not that said I cannot deny that there was benefits to it so that's why I said maybe sometimes but I'd have to be in a

10:00

really odd mood to want to jump in the shower and be like damn you know what today is a cold shower kind of day personally I think that Fitness enthusiasts people who are really into mental health physical health moms dads children I think this could benefit everybody I think that we are all very blessed and spoiled to shower in hot water and the invention of a hot water tank was just like God's work right there I think that everybody should at least give it a fair shot you may like it you may not it's not for everybody it's kind of one of those things that you're either going to love it or hate it I also think that anybody who likes to torture themselves should definitely try this because this is their kind of challenge so of course I can't make you go through this entire video without leaving you with a challenge okay don't come at me but I dare you to give this a shot for at least 3 to 5 days maybe a whole week like I did to see if you

11:00

notice the benefits and if you think that it helps improve your life in any drastic way then it might just be your new secret weapon to becoming your best most productive healthy self I again was not a huge fan personally it's one of those things like you can watch me do it but until you actually do it yourself you're not going to know what it feels like and it feels pretty awful I do think that there is some benefits you know there's a reason that all the Millionaires and billionaires take cold showers and meditate and it's because it helps them to refocus re-energize themselves after long days so give it a shot and let me know what you think in the comments because I am so curious to know what you guys have to say and how this went I really wish there was like a tab on here where you could all film clips of yourselves getting in for the first time and screaming because I think it'd be so entertaining to listen to other people struggle all right everybody that is a wrap for today's video I hope you enjoyed coming along for the wild week

12:00

don't forget to give this video a thumbs up if you got a kick out of watching me scream and swear in pain probably would have thought I was on Fire based on how I was acting but I can promise you that water was bone chilling cold and don't forget to subscribe to join the AP fam and participate in future challenges like this one I love you all and I'll see you next week bye

In a world where comfort often reigns supreme, the thought of stepping into a cold shower may seem daunting. Yet, many health enthusiasts tout the benefits of this practice, claiming it can enhance energy levels, improve recovery, and sharpen focus. Abigail Page, a dedicated athlete, embarked on a week-long journey to test these claims firsthand. What she discovered may inspire you to reconsider your daily ritual.

Over the course of seven days, Abigail immersed herself in the chill of cold showers, documenting her experiences and reflections. While the initial discomfort was undeniable, she began to notice subtle shifts in her physical and mental state. This exploration invites us to consider not only the science behind cold exposure (this topic in depth) but also how such a practice can be integrated into our wellness protocols for greater resilience and longevity.

7 Days of cold showers taken 3 Weeks until her marathon

Introduction to Cold Showers

The concept of cold showers is rooted in the principles of contrast therapy, which involves alternating between hot and cold temperatures to stimulate the body's natural healing processes. Research suggests that cold exposure can enhance circulation, boost immunity, and even improve mental clarity. For athletes like Abigail, the potential benefits extend to faster recovery and enhanced performance.

Abigail's motivation to undertake this challenge stemmed from her desire to optimize her training as she prepared for an upcoming marathon. "I think that we are all very blessed and spoiled to shower in hot water," she remarked, highlighting the comfort we often take for granted. Yet, she was determined to see if the discomfort of cold showers could yield significant benefits.

Daily Experiences

The journey began with a stark realization: the initial plunge into cold water was far from pleasant. Abigail described her first experience as "horrible," grappling with involuntary shivering and a sense of dread. However, as the days progressed, she adapted her approach, incorporating a method of alternating between hot and cold water. This adjustment made the experience more tolerable, allowing her to focus on the potential benefits.

By day four, Abigail had come to accept the chill as part of her daily ritual. "I kind of just learned to accept the fact that I was going to hate every second of my life when I was in there," she reflected. Despite the ongoing discomfort, she began to notice subtle shifts in her energy levels and recovery times, suggesting that the body was responding positively to the cold exposure.

Results and Conclusions

After a week of cold showers, Abigail's reflections revealed a complex relationship with the practice. She noted improvements in her energy levels and muscle recovery, stating, "I could definitely see if you're a morning shower person how this could be beneficial." The invigorating shock of cold water seemed to enhance her focus and motivation, akin to the feeling of completing a challenging workout.

Despite the discomfort, Abigail acknowledged the mental benefits of the experience. "It's not fun in the moment but once you step out of the shower, you're not going to regret it," she concluded. This sentiment resonates with many who embrace discomfort for the sake of personal growth, underscoring the value of resilience in our wellness journeys.

Challenge to Viewers

As Abigail's week came to a close, she extended a challenge to her audience: "I dare you to give this a shot for at least 3 to 5 days." This invitation encourages others to explore the potential benefits of cold showers for themselves. While the experience may not be universally appealing, the practice of stepping outside of one's comfort zone can foster resilience and clarity.

In a world that often prioritizes comfort, cold showers serve as a reminder of the power of intentional discomfort. Whether for improved recovery, enhanced focus, or simply as a new ritual, the challenge invites us to consider how we can cultivate resilience in our daily lives.
